New 12++ Gas Fireplace Keeps Going Out. I had a service man come out and he fiddled with it for a couple of hours. If it has a pilot, is that staying lit. I recently had my gas fireplace serviced because it would not lite correctly (apparently the pilot assembly was not even anyhow, now the fireplace was coming on within a few seconds and working great. Also, make sure the flue is open, and make sure its getting enough air, or it will smother out.
